MOUNTAIN STREAM

Mount Asama in the north, Mount Yatsugatake in the south and many other mountains and mountain streams.

Native iwana live in the headwaters, while the lower reaches are a mixture of landlocked salmon and iwana, and further downstream there are more landlocked salmon.

Fishing is possible in Nagano Prefecture from 16 February until the end of September.

The rivers with limited number of reservation beats are open until 20 September; 10 days in advance is required.

Hako Steelhead can be fished from autumn to spring.

All of the above is mainly single-handed fishing.
